Non-toxic Makeup Product Review: Rejuva Minerals
As many of you know, I have been slowly but surely making the switch over to toxin-free makeup products. I’ve never really been one to buy makeup online because I always want to try it out in person first. However, most of the organic makeup brands out there aren’t sold in stores like Ulta and Sephora. But that’s okay because Rejuva Minerals provides multiple ways for you to select the right colors so that you find the perfect shade for you! You can even mail them your current foundation and they will use that to match you with one of their foundations. So cool right?! So, I decided to give my first chemical-free makeup brand a try. Here is my review of 4 products from Rejuva Minerals.
FLAWLESS FINISH Cream Foundation
Things I look for in a a foundation:
Incredible coverage (Ya girl has some acne scars)
Matching shade
Doesn’t get patchy (Ya girl has oily skin)
Clean ingredient list
So, how did this foundation hold up according to my standards? Pretty dang well. As far as coverage goes, I give it a 10/10. This foundation is perfect for a night out or if you are just wanting a more made-up look. It certainly holds its own against big name brands boasting about all-day coverage. For someone with lots of hard-to-cover acne scars, this was very impressive! I got this cream foundation in the shade of Gingersnap. It was definitely more of a pinky color than I was expecting, but I have very pink skin so I knew what I was getting into when I ordered. This shade works flawlessly when I have a bit of a tan, but not as much in the dead of winter for me. I may go with the shade of Spice next time as it may match a little better year round. Okay, patchiness. This foundation did something very interesting when it blended with my oily skin. Typically foundations look great when I first put them on but then by the end of the day they start to separate into little patches all over my face due to my oiliness. However, this foundation went on very matte, but then by the end of the day I had a nice dewy glow. It appeared that my oily skin made it look BETTER. What?! It did not get even the least bit patchy for me, which was a very exciting bonus. And last but not least, clean ingredients. This product is made with naturally derived ingredients, and the Environmental Working Group app shows that there are no cancer, allergy, or developmental causing ingredients to be concerned about. Yay!
hd pressed setting powder
Yo. This stuff should be called Photoshop Airbrush Face-tune Setting Powder. The second it goes on your skin it pretty much blurs out your pores. It’s truly magical! I put this over the Flawless Finish Cream Foundation and it kept my makeup looking fresh all day. It’s a great way to finish off your look and blend contouring lines together. I highly recommend getting this when you buy a foundation.
Plus it’s free of all these things:
No Parabens, Gluten, Titanium Dioxide and Mica
And it’s cruelty free and vegan!
concealer powder
Okay, here is a little hack for anyone out there dealing with active acne. Powdered concealer is going to be your best friend on days when your pimples are poppin’ and you are trying to leave for work but normal cream concealer just won’t cover it. Been there done that sister! Powdered concealer is a total life saver in moments like that. Just take a small concealer brush and dab some of this powder concealer on it and you are good to go. This concealer blends really well with the Rejuva Minerals foundations as well. I got this one in the color “natural”. Rejuva Minerals has some awesome things to say about the ingredients too:

Apparently it’s also been worn by Shailene Woodley and Zooey Deschanel sooo that’s pretty cool!
pur’ lips lipstick
This might have been my favorite new find out of all of these products. I typically get a bit irked while wearing lipstick because I hate the feeling of it. Most lipsticks instantly dry my lips out, which is totally counter-productive when I am trying to have plump and healthy looking lips! I was pleasantly surprised to find that this lipstick was not only the absolute perfect shade for me, but it was moisturizing to my lips. Woo! I got this in the shade of “Berry Bliss”. It’s a beautiful pinky hue with some shimmer in it. Rejuva Minerals offers lipsticks with no shimmer as well if you’re not into that. Now, what about the ingredients? Well, these lipsticks received a perfect clean score on the Think Dirty app! That’s good news because you especially want your lipstick to have clean ingredients. You’re basically eating it!
